Did somebody say… USA?

Hi everyone,

For my international internship, a compulsory part of my school curriculum, I got the amazing chance to go to the USA and stay in a host family. Before leaving, I thought it would be appropriate to paint my nails extra special for the occasion and created the American flag. I had an amazing trip to the States, and my nails were very well received. I hope you like them too, and I’ll see you guys soon!

30 days nail art challenge day 17

Hi everyone,

Today the adventure of the 30 days nail art challenge continues with the nail art of day 17. The challenge for this day was to create glitter nails. To be honest, I don’t consider glitter nails as a real nail art. It is just a special top coat you apply on top of the normal polish, so actually nothing really special. Nonetheless, as the challenge contains a glitter nail art, I made glitter nails! As a base color I used the polish nr. 60 (or 09, I have no idea, haha) by SOHO, which is a dark, burgundy red. On the pictures the color doesn’t really show, in real life it is a lot darker. On top of this I applied the nail art special effect topper nr. 11 Disco Disco by Essence. The end result is a clean and simple nail design, which isn’t very difficult to create and therefore a good option when you are in a hurry but still want your nails to look good. Below is the second picture of the end design, and I will see you guys soon!

TAG: Nail Polish Addict

Hi everyone,

Today I don’t have a nail art for you guys, but a Tag that has been going around for quite some time now. It is the nail polish addict tag, and below are the questions and my answers! (All the pictures included come from weheartit)

1. What’s your favourite nail polish company?
Hmm, although I do not own any of their polishes, I’ll go for OPI. I love their different colors and new inventions. For example the new top coat with real gold ‘Man With The Golden Gun’. My only problem with the OPI nail polishes is the price. It is right now just too tempting to buy more budget polishes instead of one OPI color, but my plan is to change that soon!

2. Glitter or no glitter?

This one is easy; no glitter. I like to make nail arts and then it isn’t convenient to use glitter. Also, glitter is a pain to get off your nails, which I find very annoying.

3. OPI, China Glaze, or Essie?

Again, I’ll go for OPI. I like their polishes more than the ones from China Glaze or Essie, just because of the amazing colors, funny names and successful xollaborations with famous artists.

4. When do you change your nail polish?

I change my nail polish when I have time for it, and as soon as it starts looking really horrible. I don’t like to have chipped nail polish on my nails, so I remove my nail polish quite often.

5. What’s your favorite color on your nails?

Wow, that’s a question I can’t answer! I like almost every color in my nails, and especially in a nail art. Although I do own a lot of blues and greens, I almost never wear them alone on my nails. This goes for actually every color that I own; I mostly wear a nail art instead of one plain color.

6. Darks or brights?

These are almost even, but I’ll go for the brights. I just use them more often, but I also really like the darks.

7. What are you wearing on your nails right this moment?

At this moment I’m wearing my Paris nails, as seen in this post.

8. Matte nails – in or out?

Definitely in. Although I don’t really care about the trends, and just choose what I like most. But matte is a definite yes for me, I just love it so much. It can give a completely different look to a nail polish, but I only like it when it is applied over just one color. So not over nail arts, which I usually make.

9. French manicure?

No, not my favorite. It can be nice if you just want neat nails without color, but personally I don’t think it is really special. What I do like is the French manicure with a twist; using different colors or combinations with matte and shiny.

10. Favorite Summer Colors?

I don’t really have a favorite color, I just like original nail arts!

I hope you liked reading this Tag, take it if you want to and share the fun! I’ll see you guys soon!

NOTD; Paris, je t’aime

Hi everyone,

Today I have fun news; I’m off to Paris for five days with school! I’m really looking forward to this and to come into the french mood  I’ve made a french manicure. Literally, because I painted the french flag on four on my fingers and wrote ‘Paris’ on my finger left! The white base color I used is my brand-less polish, as always. The blue and red are nr. 400 Blue Cara Ciao and nr. 360 Raspberry Fields Forever from Catrice. The black polish I used for writing Paris is nr. 59 Black is back from Essence. I hope you like the nail art, and I will surely enjoy my time in ‘la douce France’! Bye for now, and I will see you guys soon!

30 days nail art challenge day 9

Hi everyone,

Today I will continue with the 30 days nail art challenge. I’ve thought a lot about which nail art I wanted to make for day nine, were the challenge is to make a rainbow nail art. I first wanted to make nyancat-nails, but because I’ve made them before I decided to go for something new! I used the nail polish nr. 59 Black is back from Essence as a base. After letting that dry completely, I used the colors nr. 360 Raspberry Fields Forever, nr. 240 Sold Out For Ever, and nr.  400 Blue Cara Ciao from Catrice. I also used nr. 95 Wanna be your sunshine from Essence and a mixture of my brand less white and nr. 08 from Hema. I took my dottingtool and dipped into these different colors to make the hearts. It didn’t take me really long to make, but it took ages to dry completely! I like the happy and bright end result and I hope you like it to! Below is the other picture from this day’s nail art, and I will see you soon!

Heartbeat nail art

Hi everyone,

Today I decided to show you a nail art I made some time ago; the heartbeat nail art. After searching for some inspiration, I decided I would do it in black and red. I chose this because I thought the red would really stand out on a black background.

I started with a base coat, and then applied two layers of black. For this, I used the color ‘Nero’ from Gosh. I then used my dotting tool to make the heart on my thumb. I used a toothpick to make the heartbeat lines. For both the heart and the lines I used the color nr. 360 Raspberry Fields Forever from Catrice.

Overall, I like my nail art although I think it is a little dark. Next time I will try to use white as a background, but for now this looks pretty good! I know this is a really short post, but there’s nothing more to say! I hope you liked it, and I’ll see you next time!

30 days nail art challenge day 1

Hi everyone,

Today I’m excited to announce that I am going to start with the 30 days nail art challenge. I won’t do every day a nail art from this challenge, but I’ll try to do one every two days. This is what the challenge consists of: Afbeelding

And today I will start with the first nail art, the red one. I chose to use two different red nail polishes, the nr. 360 Raspberry Fields Forever, and nr. 550 Marilyn & Me from Catrice. I first applied nr. 360 and then on top on that a mat top coat. I then made on two nail horizontal and three nails vertical stripes with nr. 550. This is the result:
